Data center site development — Slovakia
Betasolar identifies and prepares sites for data center development, focusing on power availability, connectivity and a clear path to construction.
Company
Betasolar develops data center opportunities in Slovakia, with a focus on the country's eastern regions.
We combine land sourcing, power infrastructure and connectivity with early-stage development work to prepare sites for the next phase of investment.
Our approach is practical: identify viable locations, establish the infrastructure requirements and advance the project before bringing it to market.
We work with each site's distribution system operator to establish available capacity — status ranges from reserved to early-stage discussion, and is stated for each site below.
We map fibre routes along existing transmission corridors before confirming a site, prioritising locations with two independent directions.
We assess zoning and land-use status early, to understand the realistic permitting path for each location.
Locations
Three sites in eastern Slovakia, along the D1/R4 corridor and within reach of Košice International Airport. Grid connection status differs by site — see details below.
Approximate site locations along the D1/R4 corridor.
Site 01 — Prešov Region
20 MW · Reserved
Snina sits in an established industrial park. Grid connection — 20 MW at 110 kV — is already reserved with the distribution system operator, and the zoning keeps permitting straightforward.
A district heating plant on-site opens the door to heat off-take as an added revenue stream. Fibre is already routed to the site via nearby 110 kV lines, in two independent directions.
Brownfield site in an established zone.
Industrial zoning, a more efficient approval path.
Heat off-take potential, added revenue.
20 MW at 110 kV, confirmed by the DSO.
Two independent 110 kV routes to the site.
Site 02 — Prešov Region
Up to 20 MW · Indicative
The site sits directly next to a major electrical substation (22/110/220/400 kV) — about as close to the grid as a site gets.
Currently arable land; permitting requires conversion to industrial use. The DSO has indicated available capacity, with formal confirmation pending.
Available on a long-term lease rather than purchase, with flexible multi-decade terms. Fibre runs along the existing 110 kV network in two independent directions.
Directly next to a 22/110/220/400 kV substation.
Capacity indicated by the DSO; confirmation pending.
Flexible multi-decade lease terms.
Two independent directions on the 110 kV network.
Within easy reach of Prešov and the regional road network.
Site 03 — Košice Region
Up to 20 MW · Indicative
Sits on the edge of town, close to existing infrastructure and a qualified regional workforce.
Mostly agricultural/industrial land with potential for a land-use change. Grid capacity is under discussion with the DSO, not yet confirmed.
Fibre runs along the regional 110 kV network in two independent directions.
Edge of town, close to existing infrastructure.
Agricultural/industrial land; change not yet complete.
Capacity indicated by the DSO; confirmation pending.
Two independent directions on the regional network.
